For those of you who don’t know, I work part-time in a Natural Grocery Store and even though I haven’t had cravings for sweet stuff lately, I’m not going to lie, it was somewhat difficult not to eye-ball those delicious Strawberry Hail Merry’s macaroons. When this happened, I just tried to think about how I would feel AFTER I ate them. My blood sugar would spike, and even though they are made with maple syrup, they would more than likely make me feel pretty good, then pretty horrible, and QUICK!
So that was the end of that. I grabbed my organic green apple I had been looking forward to , and sliced that baby up! It was HEAVENLY. What? An apple? A GREEN apple at that. I’ll say my taste buds are definitely changing! If this detox leave me craving fruit and helps me keep my hands of processed sugars , added sugars and sugar substitues, I’ll be a happy girl.
So today, DAY 6 : I woke up and ate a brisket salad. It’s more like a stew, but ever so delicious. My energy seems to be increasing as each day passes. Once again, I did not take a nap when the littles did. I studied, completed my homework and submitted, and still had time leftover to write this post.
If it were warmer out, you better bet your bottom dollar we would be out there at at park, hiking or doing anything out there! Being cooped up inside with all this energy is not cool! But, at least I have been very productive!
So, aside from feeling energized, I have noticed the brain fog has lifted. Hey, I remember this feeling; It just feels so good to be able to think clear! My anxiety is pretty much non-existent, and my over-all mood just feels HAPPY!
If you are interested in learning more about Sugar and the effect it had on the body, I suggest checking out “Sugar Shock” by Nicholas Perricone M.D.
It’s a very informative read, and there I learned that sugar really does cause all kinds of ailments I never thought about!
I’ll update as the day progresses! Much love-
