21 Day Sugar Detox: DAY 20!

It’s been a few days since I last posted and I apologize for that! If you have been keeping up with my journey, you know that I have seen big improvements in my energy, mood (and NO brain fog), skin and I feel like I have lost a few pounds, too. During my detox I have been keeping active with youtube workouts, yoga, running and/or hiking. We have saved money on groceries and this detox has helped form me into someone who is more mindful of the labels. I feel great and have been getting great rest, and dreaming a lot, too. I don’t know if any of you are big Deftone fans, but the other night I had a dream that Cheno Moreno built me a custom long board and taught me how to ride. LOL!

That same night I woke up at 5:30, bright-eyed and busy tailed, ready to start my work day. I got ready and as I exited my home, I walked outside into the dark starry sky, with the waning crescent moon hanging like a necklace from the heavens. In that moment I felt the calm and peaceful energy coming from that moon. It was beautiful. These ‘little things’ have been happening a lot lately.

I feel good, I’m looking to help generate and  positive energy and my eyes are open and focused. I also managed to do something very out of character: I signed up for another 5k on a whim. My first is supposed to be in March, but as of now, my first will be this weekend! It sounds crazy, but I’m not going to put too much worry into it, I’m just going to do it! 

The funny thing about this detox : at first, I would think about the dark chocolate I could eat after my 21 days and from where I am standing now, I can’t think of one sweet thing I want to indulge in other than some berries.

The meals we have prepared over the last 20 days: have got us in the habit of making better food choices and we’ve seen good results from it. Coming from someone who has always over-indulged in sugar, it is amazing to be at a place where I can say that I don’t feel connected to sugar like I did before. I feel a release, and I know that I don’t ever want to go back. This all feels ‘normal’ now. Weird, huh?

Over the weekend we took a family hike, prepared a big paleo feast with the family, vistited the park and kept busy preparing meals and thinking up new ones. The hubster made some delicous coconut flour nuggets and I regret not snapping a pic to share with you guys!

We set up a primal potluck  for the last weekend in January and cannot wait to see everyone and let our kiddos play. ❤ Things are changing, and I just love every piece of it. ❤

Tomorrow is the 21st day! 🙂
